Define…’Thoughty Gobbet’?
August 27th, 2009
I mentioned in the About page that I have quite the obsession for anagrams, and I have an only-slightly-less-insane love of etymology and word meanings in general. I have nothing against the word ‘blog’, I think it’s an interesting evolutionary tract for language to run through. And sure, I’ll blog here. But I’ll also give you a thoughty gobbet now and again – just something to think about, some concept or thing I find interesting or worth having a discussion about.
Still confused?
A thoughty gobbet is this:
gobbet |gäbit|nounA piece or lump of flesh, food, or other matter.Originating from gob.
thoughty |thawtee| adjectiveNot a word at all. But you see where I’m going with this, right? Just think ‘thoughtful’.
